Avra has over 15 years of Indian classical music training is a composer and plays the instrument sarod, specializing in World music. He has done successful collaborations with musicians across the USA, Europe, India and Australia. Avra has till date released 7 albums, more than 30 singles and has been awarded and nominated in some of the most prestigious awards like Global Music Awards, World Entertainment Awards, Akademia Awards, OneEarth Award Festival, Independent Music award, Elite Music Award, Global Indian Music Award in categories like World music, Fusion Music and Instrumental music. Founder of two World music bands “Ragamorphism” at India and “SwaraSynthesis” at Australia, where he performs, writes and arranges the compositions. As a composer and songwriter, Avra has multiple releases that span across diverse genres like World music, Indian Classical music, Fusion music, Rock & Pop music, Ghazals and Sufi music as both instrumental and vocal songs in multiple languages like Hindi, Urdu, English, Bengali.
Avra says "Music is more an art for me than entertainment and hence I prefer to create music that is intricate and musically challenging, but at the same melodious and contemplative to the listeners"
Hence, he has experimented many of his compositions with multimodal melodies that also goes beyond the conventional rhythmic patterns.
Avra is based at Perth, Australia and beside a successful musician, he is also a working professional in a senior leadership role in an IT organization. Avra is married to Nabanita, who is a school teacher in primary education and has a school going son of 14 years who is doing his trainings on Piano in Jazz, Indian classical and contemporary music.

Project "Manoyatri" - The Mind Voyager
"Manoyatri" is Avra's most intricate and grandeur project till date, takes you through a transcending voyage that is spiritual, divine and pure and each compositions presents a narrative with a varied experience of connection, wisdom, timelessness, serenity, self-realization, love and synchronicity that establishing a sense of ultimate peace. There is equal emphasis regarding craftsmanship for both melody & rhythm. In context to melodic technicalities, the compositions are firmly rooted in the earthy tones of Indian Classical music and are multimodal and based on progressive tonality embellished with heterophonic musical textures. Hence, the musical form branches out into diverse genres exemplifying the essence of global music. On the rhythmic technicalities, these compositions are created over unconventional and intricate rhythmic time cycles that are also syncopated in nature. Time cycles like 9/4, 11/4, 13/4, 15/4 dominate in each composition respectively, and in some there are transitions to the usual 3/4 and 4/4. There is involvement of 22 musicians and 12 individuals contributing to recording, mix & master from countries like India, Australia, USA and UK.
